Look Look

look look1pic

Concept and performance: Anne Juren (Austria/France), Krõõt Juurak  (Austria/Estonia)

With the cooperation of Eva Blut (Austria), co production Tanzquartier Wien, Unit F.
Look Look is a choreographic transcription of the creative process at play in the world of fashion. Devised in the manner of a fashion show, the starting point for the work was the desire to to show the techniques of the designer Eva Blut, as well as the catwalk attitude differences when the clothes are worn by two different people. Anne Juren and Krõõt Juurak perform a number of poses inspired by the clothing. The body and the image change, mutating from a stereotypical fashion figure to an everyday posture, from a clearly identifiable form to a hybrid, plastiform, more difficult to recognise.

Duration: 45 min.
Tickets: 12/10 BGN

+/- 359 Topology

59856_114092195313740_113849815337978_102829_5644686_n

Concept and performance: Deufert+Plischke (Germany), Iva Sveshtarova (Bulgaria), Neli Miteva (Bulgaria), Willy Prager  (Bulgaria), Stephan Shtereff (Bulgaria), Mila Odazhieva (Bulgaria), Maya Stefanova (Bulgaria), Boyan Manchev (Bulgaria)
Our investigation into the (self)representation of Bulgaria was not intended as a historical or political documentation. Rather we wanted to find out what is the texture, the complex and interwoven memories, facts and stereotypes that build the many voices of the narrative of Bulgaria. And in a step further we constructed an independent work, a maze, a work that leaves its narrative fundament in order to emancipate itself from it. The political is to be found in the presentation of the event itself and in the invitation it speaks out: a calling to deliberately participate in what we constructed, to build your own individual topology, be it a political-historical passage, an aesthetic topology or a queer archeology. So make your decision!
You are standing in front of +/- 359 Topology much like standing in front of the Labyrinth, but without the red thread of Ariadne.
. You have to participate! You  have to move, you have to approach, you have to come closer: you will dance a dance of dis-orientation!
So +/- 359 Topology invites you to examine it as a collection of collections. Each element of the installation is in itself a collection of memories, facts and desires. They all connect  to the other elements without exhibiting this connection, but  rather by inviting you to be active. To construct the relation, to draw the connecting lines. And when  you come back the collection will have changed by the traces of all the active passengers. The performance of the installation creates the installation. And what emerges is not pre-fixed. +/- 359 Topology is a room of EMERGENCE.

Heidi

Ace Heidi pic

Creation and performance: Aleksandar Georgiev (Macedonia)
The Project is dealing with stupidity as term, stead of mind and sensation. The aim is far away from saving the world but for sure it brings something instead of it. Heidi is a constructed figure – “something” that symbolizes and represents naivety, purity, silliness and joy by all meanings…. I am also provoked to find out if she might be charmingly stupid, though she is too cute to be called “stupid”.

Choreography and concept: Iskara Sukarova (Macedonia) and Dejan Srhoj (Slovenia); Dramaturgy: Ana Vujanovic (Serbia)); Production manager: Biljana Tanurovska - Kjulavkovski (Macedonia); Performance: Iskra Sukarova (Macedonia) and Aleksandar Georgiev (Macedonia)

Formula is a process, a project developed in different phases through diverse modes of collaboration between Sukarova, Srhoj and other dramaturgs, theoreticians, performers...
First Formula was based on the deconstruction of some aspects of classical ballet (moving in diagonals, facing public and facing up-stage, partnering, gestures). These aspects were later re-shaped, inverted, exposed. The result was far from ballet but it kept aiming at precision of performance, quality of touch and being human.
In the newest phase of the research and process of development of Formula, Sukarova and Srhoj invited new performer, Aleksandar Georgiev, who together with the authors worked on the (re)shaping of the given structures, articulating new bodily communication into the concept.

Performance: Valeri Milenkov (Bulgaria); Artist: Ralitza Toneva (Bulgaria); Music: Jurii Bondzukov (Bulgaria)
Écorché is an organic monologue of the fetish body which is concentrated in the cut and in the touch. Écorché explores the dynamics of a body, which has driven the personality away; a body which has its own thoughts on its borders and whole; a body which is radical in its gestures, which is dissolved and sensitive. Écorché is part of a long-term project by Miroslav Yordanov which aims at the realization of a series of solo performances and chamber music performances in the area of contemporary dance. As a result, because of this project the following performances were created: Void, Ductus – A Manual on Riding Dead Horses, and Slit – Mishima and St. Sebastian, which is a performance created based on parts of the biography and works by the Japanese writer Yukio Mishima.

Ligna present:
The new man

ligna

The New Man is a performance without actors and stage. There is nothing to see except for the activity of the visitors. They are listening to a radio play that not only deals with the four aesthetic positions mentioned above, but proposes gestures and movements according to the different blueprints of the new man. But the audience is not listening to the same things at the same time. It is split up into four groups. For fifteen minutes each group is listening to one of these positions, then their program is changing and their role is transferred to another group. In the end every group of listeners will have tested and quoted every attitude. They play the same play four times with different roles, being actors and viewers at the same time. The New Man calls for turning the production of gestures and movements into a public, collective affair.

Ligna exists since 1997. The group consists of the media- and and performance artists Ole Frahm, Michael Hueners and Torsten Michaelsen, who since the early nineties work at the Freies Sender Kombinat (FSK), a public non-profit radio station in Hamburg. Bi-weekly they provide a program called Lignas Music Box, which asks the listeners to call in and play their favorite songs via the telephone.  All works of LIGNA have in common, that they regard their audience as a collective of producers. In a temporary association it can produce unforseeable, uncontrollable effects, that challenge the regulation of a space.
One of Ligna’s models of media usage, the Radio Ballet (invented in 2002), provides radio listeners with a choreography of excluded and forbidden gestures in formerly public, now controlled spaces. Others are the Radio concert for 144 mobile phones, which lets the radio listeners participate in a process of collective composition, or The new Man, a theatre play without actors, which engages the audience in a complex gestural interaction.

Untilted Stills

an kaler pic!!!

Practise-Format by An Kaler in cooperation with Alexander Baczynski-Jenkins and Rodrigo Sobarzo
Untitled Stills explores the pictorial quality of movement. Based on notions of the still / image (in video and photography) the still in motion is reviewed by testing moments prior to a settling or arrival, and vibrating in-between fixed relatable positions.
The research approaches poses and posing as an activation in relation to movement and physical practises – negotiating intentions and presence in a ongoing action of framing. How can we indicate that moment of re_framing and displace projections in order to allow for shifts and gaps to operate transformatively? How do practises and investigations correlate in a moment of shared practise?
For each public presentation one music album is selected, marking the duration of the endeavour.
Duration: 50 min.
